Now

Hmh! Another b-day coming up.... Blue funk material....

Now
© 2003

I don't want to celebrate
The simple flow of time
It happens just by fate
As upwards we climb

Time should apologise
The path is getting steep
It's sad to realise
The pace is hard to keep.

Now there's more behind
Than what is up ahead
The past lives in the mind
In all that's left unsaid.

The present becomes past
All in a blurry flash
It all happens too fast
And yet ahead we dash.

I choose to live the present
It's what I finally know
Keep only what is pleasant
And let all else flow.

I Have A Song

I Have A Song
© 2003

I have a song
Inside my heart
A simple love song
It's just a start

I sing it to you
In my dream
For everything you do
To make me dream

But you can't hear
At least not yet
I have this fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I never knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

There is a song
Inside my soul
A simple love song
And it will grow

I'll sing it for you
When you're near
For everything you do
Maybe you'll hear.

But can you hear?
Maybe not yet.
I have no fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I always knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

Won't you hear my song
Simple words of mine
I've held them so long
All I need's a sign
That you are mine
Where you belong

But can you hear?
Maybe not yet.
I have no fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I always knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

When You Be Mine

Here's a really, really old one tucked away in an attic ....

When You Be Mine
© 20th century

Let the sun shine
Smile on my soul
My life be whole
When you be mine.

Let the sun glow
In warm embrace
Kissing my face
Ever so slow.

When you be mine
Sweet honey wine
Warm summer breeze
Strong great oak trees
Calm southern seas
All will be fine
When you be mine.

Bring me the sun
Slow tender dance
In sweet romance
You be the one.

Sun in my heart
Don't have to guess
The sweetest part
Is saying yes

When you be mine
Sweet honey wine
Warm summer breeze
Strong great oak trees
Calm southern seas
All will be fine
When you be mine.

My sun will shine
Summer perfume
Roses in bloom
When you be mine

Say you'll be mine....

To you

To you

© 2003

If I were a poet I'd write an ode to you
If I could write music I'd try to sing it too

A painter would paint you with a stroke of gold
All I can do is praise your greatness to behold.

You are no stranger to my world
Today however I felt your charms unfold.

I let you hold me in your arms of fire
You've always known how to inspire

So let me see inside your heart of gold
Mysterious and warm and bold.

Caress me with your warmth, my lover
There's still so much in you I can discover.

So much of you there is to adore
To you I dream one day to soar

There's much today I've left undone
So I can dreamily bask in you, my autumn sun.

The Minute Before Dawn

The Minute Before Dawn

That moment in the night
I know the sun will come back bright
And life wakes up from dreaming
That's when I find the meaning.

The minute before dawn
Black night turning to silvery morn'
When numbness turns to feeling
That's when I find the meaning.

Chorus:
The minute before dawn
Shortest eternity
Past grief is gone
New hopes are born
From time's infinity.

One minute more to go
Smallest infinity
Young day's aglow
And NOW will grow
Into eternity.

Watching you stir awake
I feel now every breath you take
Your love, such a sweet feeling
That's when I find the meaning

One moment yet again
To dream those living dreams and then
To start a new day's living
I know I've found the meaning.

Chorus

Bridge:
Counting the minutes until dawn
I'll softly hum a little song
For all the happiness that's born
On one more bright new morn'

Chorus

Slowly Coming Back

Easy with some help....

"Slowly Coming Back"
© 2003

My eyes still hurt from all the light
On waking from another endless night
And trying to tell what's real from what's dreamt
And finding what it meant.

The wild rose tree under my window sill
Might shed its petals in the nightly chill
When life is slowing but it's still on track
I'm slowly coming back

Chorus:
Stand up and take a look
See what you've never seen
Try to write a book
Of everywhere you've been
Of everything you've done
And how it all began.

All's slowly coming back with ease
Those scents of summer floating in the breeze
I really thought I'd left it all behind
It still lives in my mind.

So I've come full circle a time or two
Some dreams will knock the wind right out of you
I might be crawling but I'm still on track
I'm slowly coming back

Chorus:
Stand up and take a look
See what you've never seen
Try to write a book
Of everywhere you've been
Of everything you've done
And when it all began.

Bridge:
Whatever happened to those dreams of youth
I guess they went where all youth went
In all the effort spent
To find the truth
It's slowly coming back
Yes, slowly coming back

Chorus :
Stand up and take a look
See what you've never seen
Try to write a book
Of everywhere you've been
Of everything you've done
And why it all began.

Trailer:
I'm slowly coming back
Let's get on track
We're slowly coming back

A Moment

My first post to this blog....

A MOMENT
© 2003

A moment to myself at last
To dream
To fly away to foreign places
Just on a whim.

The secret life inside my mind
To live
To let it all be finally mine and
Then to give.

A million thoughts inside my world
To say
To share with those that I've met
Along my way.

Back gently to the here'n now
To dream
To live the life I've always sought
For me and him.

A fantasy that's all it's turned out
To've been
To build a story of adventure
Inside a dream.
