Trying to see what's coming
A little up ahead
Maybe I should be running
I do nothing instead.

I'm keeping it all inside
I feel it burn my soul
The more I try to hide
The stronger is its hold.

I'll dream it once again,
I'll live it in my mind
And maybe only then
I'll put it all behind.

But no, it's always there
A little lingering hope
I know it isn't fair
But it's my way to cope.

I've torn myself apart
Visions rage in my mind
I listened to my heart,
And pushed reason aside.

Seeking what cannot be
All for a one-time dream
But now I hold the key
To all that was unseen.

I'll lock it up again
In soul's deepest jail.
The beast is laying slain.
Forget its dying wail.

Rain showers falling
Slow hours stalling
Dark clouds shifting
Blue thoughts drifting.

Wind and torrents
Stormy moments
A weighty shroud
Of blackest cloud.

A moonless night
A wingless flight
Nowhere to go
No oars to row.

And sleep at last
The storm has passed
The night's serene
A lovely scene.

Restless

Feeling kind of blue.
Waiting, hoping
Nothing else to do

Tossing, turning
Like a spinning wheel
Never, ever
Knowing what to feel.

Guessing, thinking
Every fiery thought
Waiting, praying
For the miracle sought.

Restless, aimless,
Feeling kind of blue.
Hoping, groping
For a simple cue.
