My Garden

My Garden
©2003

Come into my garden now,
My garden of song,
Let me show you how
We all get along.

I will show you around
My garden of love.
Do you hear this sound
Coming from above?

It's your song of songs
This is your creation
Here it belongs
This sweet inspiration.

I Have A Song (again)

My amazing friend Nancy has just created a lovely song using some of my lyrics posted here: I Have A Song. It's on her web site. I am honoured and humbled by this. Here it is again:

I have a song
Inside my heart
A simple love song
It's just a start

I sing it to you
In my dream
For everything you do
To make me dream

But you can't hear
At least not yet
I have this fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I never knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

There is a song
Inside my soul
A simple love song
And it will grow

I'll sing it for you
When you're near
For everything you do
Maybe you'll hear.

But can you hear?
Maybe not yet.
I have no fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I always knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

Won't you hear my song
Simple words of mine
I've held them so long
All I need's a sign
That you are mine
Where you belong

But can you hear?
Maybe not yet.
I have no fear
That I'll forget
Forget the words
I always knew
Just simple words
I wrote for you

Quo Vadis?

An unfinished thought....No idea where it's going...

Quo Vadis?
©2003

And sometimes darkness lifts
Revealing a clear fate
Just walk on straight
To find all of life's gifts.

And if you pause to think
At what lies up ahead
Keep going instead
Don't look over the brink.

And should you give up hope
Seeing how hard's the climb
Remember it takes time
To learn just how to cope.

But there's one thing alone
To stop you in your stride
That is trying to hide
Your fear of the unknown.....

Humans in Training

From J. D. Allen's book Humans in Training:

Past and future do not really exist; they only exist in our minds. Yet they appear to be very real to many people who struggle because they are so focused on the past that they are not able to move beyond it. Others are so stressed out about what might happen in the future that they are not participating in the present. The present is the only time that really exists. The extent to which we live in the past or the future, rather than the present, makes all the difference in the world about the direction our life is taking. Whatever dominates an individual's present thoughts, feelings, decisions, and actions, determines the direction in which their life moves. Why is it that they make rearview mirrors in cars so small? So we can be aware of what is behind, learn from the past, yet remain focused on the here and now and on where we are going.

Dunes

How many clichés can there be in one short poem? LOL!

Dunes

You see that cloud up there?
There's a poem carved in it
But if it only looks like air
That's all there is to it.

Footprints in the snow outside
Will get covered up again
Time passes like a tide
And nothing stays the same.

The dunes of life are built in sand
The wind will blow away.
When life won't go as planned
We've only got today.

A memory was true back then,
Then time turns it to a lie
It may be true again,
But only if we try.

I Wish

I Wish
©2003

You look outside and see your world
In shades of black and gray
I wish you'd see today
The rainbow's colors swirl.

I wish you'd find a happy tune
To dance and sing along
It would help right the wrong.
You'll have to hear it soon.

I want so much to help you heal
You've got to let me try
I hear you when you cry
I feel just what you feel.

I've seen the brighter side of you
I want to bring it out
Get rid of all that doubt
Let the sun shine through.

Let go the sadness and the fear
Look up to the blue sky
Turn on the sparkle in your eye
Cherish the now and here.
